At one time most locals could have recited the menus of our restaurants by memory. No more! The growing popularity of the North Fork has caused a tremendous increase not only in the number of dining establishments, but also to the variety of their offerings. We can now boast that within our boundaries you can find the oldest restaurant with continued family ownership in the US and also a new trendy spot with European and cosmopolitan flare.

Some of our restaurants can host weddings of small to medium size. (Those establishments capable of hosting large weddings are also listed on the Venue/Catering Page.) Others are ideal choices for small intimate gatherings.

Caci North Fork

56125 Main Road
Southold, NY 11971
(631) 765-4383

Authentic and delicious Italian Cuisine meets the Long Island Wine Country at Caci North Fork Restaurant. Wood fired specialties served with housemade pasta and bread will transport you to Italy, if only for dinner.

This is Italian cuisine the way it’s done in Italy—with the freshest ingredients prepared to enhance their finest qualities. And, like a local restaurant in Italy, all ingredients that can be obtained locally are harvested for use at their peak of freshness and flavor from East End fish markets and farms. Truly, dinner at Caci North Fork is an Italian delight.

Caci North Fork takes advantage of the seasons, with menus adjusted to make the most out the seasonally available harvests. So, you may find heirloom tomatoes served with buffalo mozzarella in August and butternut squash puree in November. It’s a wonderful reason to return regularly to enjoy the new specialties that Chef Marco Pellegrini has created, and no matter when you visit, he will assure that your dinner will be prepared to mouthwatering perfection. By the way, save room for the housemade gelato—a true foodie delight!

Caci North Fork also hosts rehearsal dinners and other private gatherings in their separate dining space, so after you check them out for dinner, be sure to call on them for your next private celebration.

Whether you are visiting the North Fork or call yourself a local, be sure to enjoy dinner with the friendly and attentive staff at Caci North Fork in Southold. You will soon be a regular customer.

Jamesport Manor Inn

370 Manor Lane
Jamesport, NY 11947
(631) 722-0500

The Jamesport Manor Inn arose from the ashes of its destruction and once again opened its doors to our community in May 2007. The meticulously reconstructed manor house is an exact replica of the 1820's Dimon Mansion which burned to the ground in the early morning of October 20, 2005. The Jamesport Manor "reborn" is graced with architectural details throughout including the original mansion's fish-scale Mansard roof, dormered windows, center hall staircase, prayer seats and the three dining room fireplaces. It is evident from the restaurant reviews, including a Very Good Rating from the NY Times, that at least as much attention is paid to detail in the kitchen as the renovation. Executive Chef Michael Mandleur continually delivers inventive New American Cuisine exemplifying his dedication to sustainable, fresh and local food sources. The menu is complemented by an extensive and carefully selected wine list. Lunch and Dinner are served daily. Private dining rooms are available and the skills of owner Matt Kar of famed Christopher Michael Caterers are brought to bear for private parties and business events. Visit the Rosalie Dimon Gallery, on the 2nd Floor, displaying the work of local artists provided by the East End Arts Council. Visit the website for more information on the history of the Jamesport Manor and for menus and special events.

The Pridwin Hotel

Shelter Island, NY
631-749-0476 or 800-273-2497

Whenever I find myself in need of a mini vacation, Shelter Island tops the list as a destination choice. Though a five minute ferry ride from Greenport, I am transported to another world and one of my favorite things is enjoying lunch or dinner at The Pridwin Hotel. Lunch on the deck overlooking Crescent Beach might be a chilled soup, salad, and fresh fruit. Dinner in the dining room is a gourmet event offering the freshest seafood, imaginative cuisine and a wonderful selection of Long Island wines. Their website presents menus, but you have to go there to experience the taste and the romance.

The Soundview Restaurant

57185 North Road (Route 48)
Greenport, NY 11944
(631) 477-0666

The Sound View is a North Fork icon, hosting celebrations large and small for generations. This Greenport landmark certainly has staying power, keeping current with the latest trends in cuisine, but never abandoning the favorites that keep customers coming back. For any size event, from a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or just a romantic dinner for two, the Soundview offers waterside dining at its best. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets from any seat in the house while Rachel and her staff serve you delicious American cuisine made of the freshest ingredients, beautifully presented against the backdrop of Long Island Sound. Although seafood is a popular choice, carnivores also will find many satisfying menu selections. Our mouths water just thinking about the roast duck, rack of lamb and twin porkchops selections.

Be sure to include a stop at the Red Bar in your visit. Whether it's a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap, the Soundview's Red Bar retro feel will conjure visions of the Rat Pack while you enjoy music from the piano bar, or check a score on the big screen.

So whether your tastes run to the traditional fare of the ever popular stuffed flounder and prime rib, or the New American specialties that are imaginative and delicious, a visit to the Soundview Restaurant for your next intimate celebration will leave you and your guests very satisfied indeed.
