Selecting your officiant as a very personal matter--almost as personal as selecting your life's partner! The person you choose to give your union the legal and spiritual blessing it deserves should be carefully considered. Certainly, local clergy and Town Justices are readily available, but local clergy are often reluctant to officiate at services not held in a house of worship--a bit of an issue if you dreamed of a garden, vineyard or beach wedding--and Justices and other Town Marriage Officers often don't provide spiritual blessing so many bridal couples wish to have. In that case, an non-denominational spiritual officiant such as listed below may fit the bill just perfectly.

If a Justice of the Peace or Town Marriage Officer is what you had in mind, contact the Town Clerk in one of our 5 East End Towns for more information and to be directed to a Judge. On eastern Long Island you may visit any of the Town Clerks in the five east end Towns(most have weekend hours during the summer season). Click on the title above for a directory of Town Clerks.

With all the details that need to be covered in planning a wedding, it is so easy to overlook the officiant, yet this person is the most important one of the day—besides the bride and groom that is. The person presiding over this momentous occasion of your lives should be one who understands what this commitment means to you both. No matter your faith, this joining together of two people is also a union of soul mates, and newly ordained Reverend Lisa Edson will help your souls speak to each other as you promise to love, honor and cherish. Well before the wedding date, Reverend Lisa will be your guide on the path to matrimony. In consultation she will explore with you the ways to honor the individuals you are as you discover the couple you will become, and share this discovery with your family and friends in a joyful customized ceremony.
Reverend Lisa also understands that the love shared between two people is not bounded by gender, and is delighted to participate in wedding and commitment ceremonies for the LGBT community, too.
While she happily will travel anywhere on Long Island, the Hamptons, North Fork, Manhattan and Westchester—even Connecticut—many couples prefer to tie the knot at Lisa's spectacular waterfront estate in Southold. How convenient!
Contact Reverend Lisa for a consultation—you will likely discover a new friend along the way!

She will do so much more than just show up for a blessing to make your marriage legal. She will lead you on a spiritual journey to celebrate the love you have found together. As Reverend Sarah said to me, “It is about love, joy and celebration, and making your day memorable.” There is no doubt she will help make your ceremony as meaningful and beautiful as you have dreamed.
