North Fork Venues

The businesses listed below can host large weddings of over 150 persons. They have lots of experience with weddings and you would have access to all their outside resources, such as entertainment. Each has its own unique character but all are located in the beautiful east end.

Whatever the event, the Best Western East End has everything to make it perfect. The Garden Room is lovely for a traditional rehearsal dinner or private meal with friends or business associates. There is a charming gazebo outside used for wedding ceremonies and ceremonies and the garden surrounding it is perfect for cocktail parties. The hotel also has an elegant ballroom that can accommodate up to 250 guests and of course, it provides all the catering. The staff is super here and will work with you to arrange all the details of a large wedding or a small private party. You can have a true destination event or wedding here as you have lodging, food, beauty, and convenience all in one spot!

Don't just relax in wine country. Play in Wine Country. Music, a friendly bar, and casual fare await you at The Blue, a long established North Fork spot providing fun and entertainment on weekends. At the end of a day touring the vineyards, fishing, swimming, or maybe even working on your tan, The Blue is a great way to find some laughter. People of all ages enjoy the atmosphere, warm summer nights in the outdoor pavilion, and music ranging from jazz trios to hot bands. The location alone is enough to make the Chequit Inn a perfect choice for all events. It is situated on a hill in the historic area of Shelter Island, overlooks a picture perfect sea and landscape, and is in easy walking distance from the ferry, local shops, and Union Chapel!! In the summer, its outside patio is surrounded by hydrangea bushes thick with blue blossoms and is a popular lunch stop for locals and tourists. Hallockville is unique natural staging area. The only "flash" is a shooting star across the dark night sky; the only "glitz" is the reflection of sunlight on the open fields. As almost all East End locations require, a tent is necessary to accommodate larger groups, but the beautifully restored barn provides indoor space for a cocktail party, band, and dance floor. The open beams and warm woods of the barn's interior are a designer's dream. Although eminently suited to a country design, skillful designers can turn this space into just about anything! The tent can be erected to back up against the barn so that the wide barn doors provide a natural opening between the two structures. The grounds are populated by historic buildings, many of which date from the 1700's. The location is convenient as it is close to the Hamptons, LIE, and is in the heart of Wine Country. The Jedediah Hawkins Inn is the newest venue and the oldest historic landmark offering services for private parties and special events in the North Fork Wine Country. This Victorian mansion was built in 1863 and went from being a grand family estate to a house in disrepair over the course of time. In 2003 restoration work began and today its formal elegance has not only returned, but improved with the addition of a gazebo, naturally landscaped pond, colorful gardens, and endless farm views perfect for photographs that capture special moments. Chef Tom Schaudel, one of New York's most noted, will create a custom menu that will dazzle. It is an absolutely gorgeous place for a wedding and you are able to reserve the entire house and grounds if you wish. The Belvedere suite serves as a bridal suite for the sophisticated and the intimate dining room and patio are perfect for a rehearsal dinner. Martha Clara Vineyard on the Robert Entemann Estate in North Fork Wine Country is one of Long Island's premier locations for weddings and private events. No matter how many times I drive by it, the views are so beautiful, I slow down to drink them in. Sometimes I am treated to the sight of a horse and carriage moving slowly between the vines. The property has special memories for me as my family used to board their horses on the Entemann Estate and I well remember the beauty of the land. I also well remember the attention the Entemann's brought to everything. The buildings on the property are designed to fit in with the landscape and the character of the North Fork and are charming but spacious. In my capacity as an owner of a B&B, I have heard many first hand enthusiastic reports from my guests who were here to attend a wedding at Martha Clara. The marriage of Lessing's Catering with this North Fork Vineyard is truly a happy event for the Long Island Wine Country. Imagine a crescent shaped beach with crystal clear waters. In the distance sail boats pushed by sea breezes glide on calm waters, and the opposite shores are lushly green. The blue sky is broken by a few puffy clouds and an osprey on wing; music and laughter are the only sounds. Thousands of miles from home? Nope! You're only 2 ½ hours from NYC at the incredibly gorgeous Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island, nestled between North Fork Wine Country and the Hamptons. One of the most charming weddings I ever attended was held at this gorgeous inn a number of years ago. It was held on one of those surprisingly grey mid September afternoons, but even the uncooperative weather could not detract from the beauty and ambience of the occasion. A Chamber Music Ensemble played on the front porch during the cocktail hour and for the ceremony on the lawn sweeping down to Coecle's Harbor. The cocktail lounge was cozy but roomy and the dining room classic. I even remember the food served as the menu was so elegant in its simplicity: sliced, juicy, red tomatoes, fresh green beans, dilled potatoes, and rosemary chicken. Ram's Head Inn holds that sort of character that only time can imbue and any event is guaranteed success. (See Restaurants, Lodging, & Activities)

This is one of the nicest spots around. The large "Gold Room" is surrounded by outside decking from which you can view the fabulous sunsets over Long Island Sound. The Soundview Restaurant is family owned and has deep local roots. The food is wonderful, and you couldn't find a nicer person than Rachel, the manager and a member of the family, to help you attend to every detail. If you want a truly lovely location on the water for your wedding or any other event, you have found it! Seatuck Cove House is a waterfront inn with over 900 feet of waterfront property. Its five gorgeous rooms/suites are perfect for a bride and her bridal party, and equally suited for corporate gatherings also. Events are catered on the lawns overlooking Moriches Bay and Seatuck Cove. The house is spacious and open so that guests can easily flow from inside, to the porch, to outside! Because of its location in the Westhampton area, it is easily accessible off the Long Island Expressway and is also convenient to LI Wine Country. The cedar shake "Hampton Cottage" design of this waterfront property offers understated elegance, glorious views of the bay, and an intimate soft décor. Guests wandering out onto the bayside decks, sailing into one of the slips, or just enjoying the views through the crystal clear windows experience the feeling of a private estate. North Fork Wineries & Long Island Vineyards

In recent years, the North Fork of Eastern Long Island, New York has become famous for its vineyards and wineries. (FYI, a vineyard grows the grapes; a winery produces the wines). Like the wines, no two wineries are the same. Each has its own unique flavor and personality. The wineries listed here welcome weddings and events. I have visited each of them and in the descriptions below, I share with you my impressions. Please be sure to go to the individual websites for specific information. Remember that weekends are very busy, particularly in the summer and during harvest season which is mid September to the end of October. While I encourage you to visit the wineries at these times, I strongly urge you to set up appointments to discuss your wedding plans either mid week or during the off season weekends. The staff at all the wineries truly wants to assist you in your wedding plans, but it's tough when the tasting room is filled with people! Some wineries have indoor facilities; at others you will need to have a tent erected. Tent weddings are very popular on the East End and they are gorgeous. Most of the wineries do not have in-house caterers, but there are many fine local caterers who do events at the vineyards all of the time. Rest assured that whichever vineyard you choose, you will have a wedding to remember for the rest of your life.

Offering three series of programs Wine Discovery Series, Great Grape Series, and Beyond the Basics, Grand Cru Classes urges us to "learn more about wine, one glass at a time." Embracing the entire process of wine production, the "classes with glasses" are held at local wineries and provide hands on opportunities. Private group classes can be arranged and I can't imagine anything more fun for a bachelorette party, a pre or post winery wedding event, a corporate outing, or just a way to entertain friends. It was worth the wait for the completion of this winery's renovation as it is now one of the premiere locations for weddings and events on the East End. It is absolutely glorious. The designer must be a genius as she has managed to incorporate historical elements with the beauty of nature and balance of structure in such a way as to almost erase the lines. All two hundred guests that can be accommodated in the pavilion will have an unparalleled experience. The pavilion has a mahogany deck, high angled ceilings with incredible lighting, a huge bar, and is designed to allow elegant and easy service. The adjoining tasting room is perfect for late staying guests and there is even a loft that serves as a bridal party area. Wedding ceremonies may be performed in the orchard which has a wisteria laden long arbor entry. Bedell Cellars has an in house event specialist, Claire Day, who guides clients easily and professionally in planning their special event. This winery's commitment to excellence has now extended to events, and how lucky that is for us all!

Corey Creek is open for tastings and wine purchases and affords a lovely view across the vineyards from its tasting room. While this vineyard is no longer available for events and weddings, the vineyards and facilities at Corey Creek remain a perfect site for all those special occasions.

I have seen two wedding held here. One was classically lovely, with emphasis on the word "class." The other was a Renaissance wedding in which the bridal party and guests came in costume from that period. Pellegrini was the perfect setting for each. The winery/tasting room is built around a center open courtyard. The size conforms to tent sizing so that the roof can be covered. The courtyard opens into the tasting room and has a wide covered hallway that provides views and access to the vineyards. There is also a wide pathway through the vines leading towards a white gazebo. This is, of course, a wonderful spot to take photographs! I personally know much of the staff at Pellegrini, some since they were children. They are all super people who will work to ensure you have the perfect vineyard wedding.
