Farms and Farmstands

The North Fork is Farm Country. Before we enjoyed vistas of vineyards, there were potato fields as far as the eye could see. Local farmers don't grow as many potatoes as they once did, but there are still plenty of farms, and farmstands, where you can find your favorite fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers grown locally by locals. In fact, many growers are a great direct resource for an event that showcases farm to fork sensibilities-and you won't find fresher flowers than those grown in your backyard.

The lush scenic vistas that greet visitors to the Driftwood Farm disguise the workings of a real farm with flowers, fruits and vegetables available in season to lend a local, farm fresh quality to the decor and menu of your wedding or other special occasion. While owners Gretchen and Steve Mezynieski are delighted to welcome your event on site (visit the Venues page for more information), their harvests allow a farm to fork sensibility at your chosen location. The possibilities are endless, and Gretchen's creative flair with local resources will assure that your special day will be one-of-a-kind!

If you have envisioned informal floral design for your wedding, consider perennials from Elijah Blue & Company. They are affiliated with The Plantage, Inc., a perennial farm, to offer a bounty of seasonal blooms. From cut flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres to live plants for greenery scenery, you will love the variety available! This is a great option for the do-it-yourselfer, but a floral designer also can work wonders with the flowers, plants and greens sourced from Elijah Blue. Since each flower has its own season, be sure to contact them early in your planning so you can set your date to coincide with your favorites.

Whether our garden or yours, an in-season garden can add a dazzling effect while being reasonably priced and renewable. Our rental option can help keep the green in your pockets AND in your special event.
